We’ve added a new Ytterbium fiber laser to our equipment. Versatile and powerful, we look forwards to what our new laser can accomplish for our customers.

EB Industries is pleased to announce that we have recently expanded our capabilities by adding an IPG Photonics YLS-4000 continuous wave Ytterbium fiber laser to our processing line. The new laser has power ratings from 400 W to 4 kW with both continuous wave (CW), and pulsed operating modes. Included with the acquisition are a number of different fiber’s, weld heads, and associated optics allowing for focused spot sizes from 50 to 1,000 microns. With a wall-plug efficiency greater than 30%, the new laser supports EB Industries dedication to efficient environmentally friendly technology.

The YLS-4000 is one of the most versatile and customizable lasers within IPG’s product line. Developed as a complete system, the design features the widest range of fiber diameters, the option to terminate to up to 6 ports from one power source, and the ability to upgrade. “We are delighted EB Industries, a company dedicated to solving customer needs across a wide array of industries, found the capabilities and flexibility of the YLS to be a perfect fit for their business,” says Bill Shiner, VP Industrial Sales, IPG Photonics, Oxford, MA.

EB Industries has been addressing customer’s joining needs for over 49 years utilizing high voltage electron beam technology as well as lower powered pulsed lasers. “At EB Industries we pride ourselves in having diverse technology capabilities in order to meet our customer’s requirements.” says John DeLalio Director of New Business Development at EB Industries. “We are a job shop that prides itself in having the right technology and knowledge to solve any joining challenge. The IPG Laser system gives us the ability to join a wider array of different metal alloys, faster, and with deeper weld penetrations resulting in high quality cost effective solutions for our customers.”
