What is precision welding
Precision welding describes the process by which welds are applied to a work piece in a very precise and controlled fashion. Dimensional tolerances for the location of the weld typically range less than ±0.2 mm (0.008 inch) for both the position of the weld line as well as the depth of the weld. Precision welding is typically used for small parts, parts with tight dimensional tolerances, or parts requiring a barely visible line weld. Precision welding generally requires computer control of the work piece and the welding heat source.
Precision Welding Services
EB Industries provides the following fusion welding processes as a service:
- Electron beam welding (EBW)
- Laser beam welding (LBW)
EB Industries also provides a precision welding service know as hermetic laser sealing. Hermetic laser sealing utilizes a precisely controlled laser welding system within an inert environment glove box. This is the perfect solution for sealing electronic packages.
